Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music is renowned for its world-class faculty, gifted student musicians, and access to professional-grade resources. Jacobs often holds large scale performances that give the institution the repertoire its known for. A particular performance that they wanted to put on that as testament to their capabilities and infamy was Gustave Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection”. With its intrinsic forces of drama and enactment of death and resurrection, this symphony requires a massive amount of talent and scale to put on. It combines an innovative mix of vocalists in a choir with a full symphonic orchestra. So, with the expectations being high, the Jacobs School of Music wanted to make sure they were advertising the event to be as captivating and rare as possible to draw in a wide range of Bloomington Indiana’s population to experience the grandiose event that is Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection”
